T-Mobile HTC G1 is internationally recognized as the world’s first Google Android-powered handset. But China wants to be side-tracked from the rest of the world, announcing their own version of Android handset.
The China’s main mobile provider, China Mobile is going to roll out their own Android handset and the device will be manufactured by world’s fourth largest PC manufacturer, Lenovo. And the launching date is planned in the first quarter (between February and March) of 2009.
China has been well known with their black market which they’re famous of cloning or unlocking branded cellphones. It’s no surprise that the original T-Mobile G1 is being sold in China for a price as much as $550.
