At the CEATEC 2008 in Japan, DoCoMo and Fujitsu have shown off their new research concept, which is a cellphone that can be split into two parts. And each can be used separately.
This concept phone can be split into two parts which are the screen and the keyboard. The screen will feature all software such as the video function. And the keyboard is meant for communication and it includes functions for activating radio, 3G, network etc.
Some more, the keypad is a touch pad that can be used either horizontally or vertically. The phone also allows various configurations such as you can stick the keypad to the side of the screen to form a Willcom D4 form factor, or stick it at the bottom to form a standard cellphone.
The connectivity between the two parts depends on Bluetooh technology. As mentioned, you can use the “two parts” separately for various functions such as playing music and video etc.
