Just the past few days and weeks, couple of manufacturers have aggressively launched a few of Netbooks. Netbooks are the kind of computer that has much smaller size than the standard notebooks but maintaining very close form factor to notebook.

Netbooks are considered to soon succeed over the UMPCs and Tablets. This is due to Netbooks maintain the simplicity and similar keyboard layout as found in standard notebooks. Which is unlike UMPCs and Tablets that have different keyboard layout (e.g split keyboard) and even dropped the keyboard respectively.

A couple of Netbooks that have been launched in the past few days, that we need to take note here. The first one is the LG Xnote Mini. And of course, as shown in the picture above, you’ll most likely be attracted more by the cute Korean chick, instead of the LG Netbook. The LG Xnote Mini features a 10 inch LCD screen, an Intel Atom CPU, 160GB of HDD, 1.3 Mpix camera, 3-cells battery. Too bad, release date and price still remain unknown, but it is made for the Korean market. Netbooks should cost less than UMPCs or Tablets do.

The second Netbook is the Toshiba NB100, which features a smaller LCD screen of 8.9 inch only, which is LED back lit with WSXGA resolution (1024×600).The Toshiba Netbook is powered by Intel ATOM N270 (1.6GHz). It’s got a 1GB of RAM, 120GB of HDD. Other goodies are Wi-Fi b/g, Bluetooth, three USB ports, and is SD/SDHC/MMC/Memory Stick/Memory Stick PRO cards compatible. Set for a price of 330 Eur in Europe and 450 Eur in Japan.

Averatec 1000 is a netbook scheduled for the Japan market on Oct 15th. It features 10.2 inch LCD screen, with a WSGA resolution (1,024×600). Powered by Intel Atom also – N270 (1.6GHz). Other goodies are 1GB RAM that can be expanded up to 2G only. It comes with Windows XP home, 160GB HDD, 3 USB ports, a multicard reader, WiFi b/g, 1.3Mpix Camera and a battery life span of 2.5 hours.
