If you’re one of the naughty drivers on the road and you’d like to play around with the traffic light then you’ll be concerned with a new system called Travolution that is to be rolled by Audi.
The Travolution system allows you to know how long it takes for a red light to turn green. Maybe some naughty drivers are always keen on playing game with the traffic lights. Lets say, when you’ve seen a red light when you’re approaching it and you’ll try to drive slowly before it turns green. But of course, it’s hard for you to tell how slow that you need to drive without stopping before the light turns green.
Audi has now developed the mentioned Travolution system which counts for the drivers how long it takes for a red traffic light to turn green. So, they will know what the speed to maintain their car without stopping it and then pick up the speed again when the light turns green. The system is to be implemented in Audi’s hometown, Ingolstadt, Germany for some drivers to test drive.
The system will help Audi’s hometown to synchronize the traffic light network and smoothen the traffic flow, and also help in reduction of the emission of CO2. (Every time, you stop and then accelerate the car again, will emit some significant amount of CO2 which isn’t healthy to the environment).
The system will be a traffic light network with 46 intelligent traffic lights, which each traffic light has a couple of communication modules that are capable of sending messages to the car’s onboard system. And from that on, the car’s onboard system is able to calculate the speed level that you should maintain your car at, which is slow enough to pass through the green light without stopping the car. The information will be displayed on the Multi Media Interface display of the in-car system.
