Some people are addicted to Nano technology these days. And the latest we have here is the world’s smallest car that lives in the microscopic world instead of our world. It’s the NanoCar, which really acts as a real car in the nano world!
The NanoCar by Rice University, is only in a size of a single strand of DNA, which measures 4 x 3 nanometers. A nanometer to one billionth of a meter or one millionth of a millimeter. Just compare it with a human hair, then you shall be able to imagine. FYI, a human hair is about 80,000 nanometers thick. Now, you probably could grab a picture of how small the NanoCar is as it measures only 4 x 3 nanometers.
The NanoCar is really a “serious” car for the nano world, as it has a chassis, axles, a pivoting suspension, and the wheels are buckyballs. And eventually these nano cars are meant to be used as trucks to carry atoms and molecules around in miniature factories. That’s how the scientists make the nano world to mimic the real world!
