When you’re stuck in the heavy traffic jam, you’d think of a flying car would be what you need, which could lift off vertically and fly over all the traffic in front. We’ve heard many of these flying vehicles are to be scheduled for production in the past two years, but none of them that has come out with a solid product.
Autovolantor – another flying car, which gets the request to design this vehicle from a wealthy foreign businessman, who simply couldn’t stand the overly heavy traffic queuing up in front of his car in the early morning. So, he wishes that he could have one of these flying car that would lift off and fly over all the traffic stuck in front.
The Autovolantor is a hybrid flying car, is now being designed by Moller International and it’s shaped like a Ferrari 599 GTB but with wings. It’s claimed capable of lifting off vertically from a traffic jam and flying up to 150 mph for a short distance (about 15 mins).
The Autovolantor is designed to function as a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV), which uses one of its eight Rotapower engines to generate enough electrical power to drive for up to 40 miles. As reported previously, Moller International had faced big financial problems of getting one of the flying vehicles they planed to roll out, the Moller M400 SkyCar. Since the Autovolantor is backed by a rich man, meaning that it’ll have higher chance to get a solid product for the market.
Of course, there are still lots of obstacles in front to get the Autovolantor flying car out in the market. Issues such as the license and other environmental issues need to be solved.

The Autovolantor seems promising at the moment, but do we really have to wait until 2010 for it to fly? After all, 2009 was also in the future until recently. I would really like the Autovolantor to be for sale to the general public as soon as possible.
Furthermore, Professor Roy of the University of Florida seems to have designed the WEAV resembling a flying saucer, but classed as an IFO, not a UFO. The images should easily be obtainable via Google. This is not to mention Steve Johnson’s ca-boat which was apparently tested earlier this year. This has made me think up the ca-plane and the ca-helicopter. The ca-boat images are also obtainable via Google, I believe.
