CSI stick, when I first heard of it, I thought it meant Crime Scene Investigation stick. That is what the CSI is famous for. But in fact it stands for Cellular Seizure Investigation Stick.
This little CSI stick makes the data on your cellphones no more secure, especially for Samsung and Motorola models. It’s kind of straightforward and simple to use. Just plug it into the data port of a handset, it can then extract those data on it.
It’s able to grab various data on your cellphone, including ocontacts, messages, emails, logbooks and other stuff (lets say some private pictures you’ve taken with your significant other) that you store on the cellphone. It’s just a little stick that is about the size of a lighter (it looks more or less like a USB flash drive) which anyone can bring along without any hassle.
The little CSI stick is sold at the price of $200. This doesn’t sound too expensive for those who’re so keen into such an act. Currently, the CSI stick works only with models from Samsung and Motorola. But don’t think that your Nokia, LG and Sony models are safe. They’re now in line which the next version of the stick shall be able to steal those precious data from other models of cellphones.
The device sounds pretty dangerous if it easily falls into the hands of public. But the company Paraben Corporation seems to aim this product at law enforcement agencies only. It maybe good for jealous spouses and overeager parents, so your spouse and your kids cannot keep any secret on their cellphones from you anymore.
