For office dwellers, you normally don’t get a chance to take a nap. Or perhaps some could do it during lunch break which you could simply put your head down on your work desk for a nap.
I don’t have the habit of taking a nap at mid day. But most people will probably do. Maybe those work from home will always have a nap. It’s been deemed that power napping is best for recovering your energy at mid day, so you can regain your productivity working more aggressively towards end of the day.
Those who always need a nap at mid day, will know that simply putting your head down on the work desk and having a nap will eventually get you some neck pains or a stiff neck. Which turns out to be worse that you can’t even carry on your work for the rest of the day.
El ZULO is an ergonomic chair pod that was designed by Frank Ehners, which is specially made to suit you with best positions while you’re sitting in it for a nap. The El ZULO chair pod is made for multiple users too and flexible for personalization, such as each user can set their own fingerprint settings for back, knee, foot and head positions. The El ZULO chair pod is actually an industrial design project of Frank Ehners for his coursework at the Halle University of Art and Design in Germany. I guess the device is just at the design stage or only a prototype available for the time being. Hope it’ll be picked up by a manufacturer and mass produce it soon.
Convince your boss that a power nap for 20-30 minutes at mid day is best for you to regain your productivity. And get him to get one of these chair pods once it’s become available, to replace the old dirty couch in your office pantry, so you can be more productive for your work to boost the income of the company.
