USB 3.0 is almost ready, learn more about its super fast speed 4.8Gbps

USB 3.0 now can deliver a speed of 2.8 Gbps, 2Gbps short from the top speed 4.8Gbps
The USB 3.0 or USB V3 is almost ready. And we’ve told you couple of months ago how fast the data transfer speed that the USB 3.0 compliant hardware could deliver.

If you’re still uncertain how fast the speed is, lets have a review. The USB 3.0 can deliver a speed of 4.8MbpsGbps (Mega Giga bits per second), which is equivalent to 600MB/s (Mega bytes per second.). Meaning that it needs only one second for transferring data of size about 600 Megabytes, the size of almost a full standard CD.

At the moment, the technology still faces little problems for being able to achieve the top speed of 4.8Gbps. This could be due to some hardware components that lack of the abilities. But they have been tested successfully at Intel’s IDF 2008, showing it able to reach a speed of 2.8 Gbps with no issue, which is equivalent to 350 Megabytes per second.

Although it’s still short of 2Mbps 2Gbps to reach the top speed of 4.8Mbps 4.8Gbps, but the 2.8Mbps 2.8Gbps is much much faster than the USB 2.0, which can deliver a speed of 480Mbps only. It’s only a matter of time for the USB 3.0 to reach the top speed of 4.8Gbps.

    I think you mean 4.8 Gbps i.e. 600MBps, i.e. 10 times faster than USB 2.0

Yes, ben, exactly, so sorry for the big mistake, :D sometimes to quick to write and post something…. too many “bps” and the M and G to handle. 4.8Gbps equivalent to 4.8Gbps/8bits = 600Mbytes/s :) thank you so much for the correction
