Nikon has got another high-res beast in its line again. It’s the Nikon Coolpix P6000 camera. The Nikon Coolpix P6000 comes with a 13.5 megapixel sensor, which offers full control of Digital SLR shooting despite its compact body.
The other uniqueness of the Nikon Coolpix P6000 is it’s equipped with built-in GPS, which allows you to keep track where and when you’ve taken those photos. Users are allowed to geotag the photos that they’ve taken by making use of the built-in GPS.
The locations of those taken photos will be geotagged with the latitudinal and longitudinal coordinates. And with the help of the Nikon ViewNX Software, my Picturetown and the Nikon photo sharing websites, you can easily pinpoint those photos to the locations where they’ve been taken onto to a map.
The P6000 is also one of the Coolpix series of Nikon, which offers easy shooting controls and exposure mode settings, as it presents the users with intuitive commands by the use of dedicated command and mode dials. You get a couple of modes of shooting which lets you make full use of the D-SLR functions by your creativity, which you have options including Programmed Auto [P], Shutter-priority Auto [S], Aperture-priority Auto [A] and Manual [M] modes.
Buttons, settings and menus are customizable by users, which allow users to customize their own sets for quickly switching between different camera modes or settings.
The P6000 also got some optional accessories to assist you for better shooting, such as a pop-up flash, optical viewfinder for easy composition and the added bonus of system expansion with an optional converter, Speedlights, and wireless remote control. The new 0.76x Wide-angle Convertor WC-E76 offers users the option to utilize focal lengths as wide as 21mm. And also the Nokon’s Creative Lighting System with the built-in accessory shoe that supports Nikon’s i-TTL flash control, enables wireless control over one group of remote Speedlights including the newly announced SB-900 Speedlight.
The Nikon Coolpix P6000 is expected to hit the store in September, and will carry a price tag of $500.
