Lenovo has got a couple of USB flash drives specially made for the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Being a Chinese company, they’ve got to produce some Olympic-themed gadgets for helping the country to gain all the money back, which they’d dumped into playing tons of grand fireworks at the opening ceremony yesterday.
These Olympic-themed USB flash drives are made available as the limited edition only. The first one shown above is made using the same material that makes the Olympic torch, which has been talked about for quite some times. The most prominent feature of course is it carries the Olympic logo, and surrounded by the “Chinese cultural-looking” swirly cloud in red. The drive is sold for RMB980 and available in 4GB storage capacity. Product page
The second one is the mascot series, which almost all of them printed with the Olympic mascot, the Fuwa image, at the center, excepts one is printed with logo. It comes in a set of six, which each as a 4GB storage capacity, and the entire set carries a price tag of RMB199. Product page
The 3rd collection comprises of five medallions, but somehow it’s hard to tell where the USB plug is being hidden. But this collection seems to be too popular as it’s all sold out. Find out more here
The last collection is the extremely limited, as they’ve produced only ten sets of them. It’s a set that consists of five 1GB titanium drives which each has a swiveling USB plug, and packaged in a special mahogany box. Product page
