Progressive Insurance, which offers car insurance, has got a new way to help their clients to save up certain percentage of the premium, by installing a gadget inside the car to detect their driving habits.
If you’re a bad driver, who always slams on the brakes suddenly, and challenges the top speeds, your bad driving habit will then be recorded by the sensor, which will result you to pay more for your insurance. And of course, if the sensor has detected that you’re a good and responsible driver, then you can save the premium for up to 60%.
The in-car gadget introduced by Progressive is definitely an easy way for the insurance company to fairly judge how much you need to pay for the premium by measuring how bad you drive. Unstable and younger folks will tend to drive more recklessly, so they’re mostly required to pay much higher price for the premium. This is somehow the other way round for the life and health insurance, which older folks shall pay more for the premium.
Progressive is gonna implement its new system in Alabama in June. And they plan to launch it across a number states in the US next year. The implementation of this system somehow will have indirect effect to reducing reckless drivers. Some may wanna save up some premium for the car insurance, will tend to change their driving habit.
