Every part of the world seems to be pretty agressive in making robots. Some researchers at University of the West of England have developed the Heart Robot, which is made to accompany its owner with high interactiveness, with all its emotions are shown on its red beating heart.
The face of the heart robot doesn’t look so appealing. It simply looks like a nerdy monkey face, which has overly heavy eye lids that it can hardly lift them up. The specialty that can be found on this little robot is it’s got a red beating heart, which is what is suggested by its name – the Heart Robot.
The Heart Robot is meant as an electronic pet for lonely geeks, which it’s designed to react well to movement, touch and response. The heart is actually a red light that is beneath a translucent plastic diaphragm. Its little red heart is pretty sensitive to touches or your other actions to it. Just a little grip on its shoulder, the heart will beat a little faster than usual. When it feels that it’s being loved, its heart beat will be slowing down, with the eyelids go lower and breath in a more relaxed manner.
The Heart Robot is exactly like a puppet, which it’s got no ability to move around. Instead, it needs your support to get it moving around. For your information, the maker of the heart robot, David McGoran, was a puppeteer, became a robotics engineer, and then he created this Heart Robot. This robotic puppet, which its size is just about the size of a small child, is one of the participants at the ‘Emotibots’ event at the London Science Museum.
