Danamics has recently announced a CPU cooler, which is said to make use of liquid metal to keep your CPU extremely cool in order to reach its top performance.
The maker claims this cooler is the most effective cooler for your CPU, which has exceeded the cooling capabilities that can be provided by those water cooling systems. Of course, all the superb cooling effect is contributed by the liquid metal. There are two advantages using liquid metal in cooling system. Firstly, liquid metal has superior thermo physical properties, which makes it best for decreasing temperature on non-uniform surfaces such as on die or across chips. Secondly, liquid metal’s special electrical properties make it best used for making electromagnetic pump, which needs no moving parts that mostly produce lots of noise, vibrations, and with shorter lifespan.
The cooling unit is self-contained, which is claimed to take couple of minutes for installing inside your computer, if you know what you should do for it. I’m kind of new to liquid metal. Perhaps, most of you have heard about it in movie Termintor 2, which the T1000 terminator was made of liquid metal.
Some suggests that liquid metal can be played in your hands, by buying 10 grams of gallium for under $50 from the RGB Company. And you can simply melt it in your hands, as your body heat is more than sufficient to melt it. But you’ll need to have little patience as it takes some times to melt, which it’ll turn into little puddle of silvery metal in your hand. Yeah, it’s safe to hold, no worry!
