TMSUK04 shop-bot shops for old grandmas on behalf in Japan
Japanese are getting lazier these days, they wish they could just sit their big fat ass down at home and relax, and get some robots to shop around for them at the huge shopping mall. That’s a great idea, but some rich and young ladies, who’ve got plenty of free time, would not buythis idea, as they extremely love shopping.

The kind of robotic shopper which has been tested in Japan, is a robot that lets the owner to control it to crawl around a huge shopping mall, while sitting and being relaxed at home. And the owner can see through the robot’s electric eyes and control it what items are to be picked up to drop into the shopping basket.

The prototype of the shopping robot, called the TMSUK04 “shop-bot” has carried out its duty at the department store in Kitakyushu, Japan, on the past July 10th. The prototyped shopping robot is equipped with a variety of cellphone communications technology, which allows it to scan through various items on the display at the shopping mall, and beam a video feed back to its operator, who is controlling it and sitting comfortably at home.

The robo shopper is great for old ladies, lets say grandmothers who’re unable to go shopping with the grand daughter, so she can then send this robot to go on behalf. The robot is equipped with NTT DoCoMo video-capable cellphone technology, which allows the grandma to control the robot, and enjoy the shopping experience through the robot’s camera eyes.

The creator, tmsuk, also claims that they’re making the next version of these shopping bots to be equipped with “3D communications” technology, which makes possible of having telerobotic shoppers to roam the fashionable areas of cities like New York or London.
