Creative is gonna add a new PMP into its Zen series, which is called the X-Fi. The official announcement of the X-Fi has not been done yet but there are some details about it have emerged and it seems to carry many goodies.
But don’t left put your expectation too high for the Zen X-Fi, it’s not gonna have a touchscreen interface as what your Apple iPod Touch presents to you. But you can expect it to be WiFi capable that allows you hook up to any hotspot and download tunes to it, and also for sharing your music.
Some other features that you can expect on the X-Fi will be a built-in speaker, FM tuner, voice recorder, and it supports media streaming from Creative’s Public Media Server. Although the X Fi is a PMP, but it comes with a mobile-phone styled keypad, which it’s meant for you to get hooked up to chatting, using the “Tchatter” over various online chat services such as Yahoo Messenger, Gtalk or MSN.
The X-Fi also comes equipped with some sound quality enhancements. The X-Fi Crystalizer and X-Fi Expand are the two sound enhancers on this PMP to give better sound experience. Some also guess that Creative will announce its new software called “Centale” along with the X-Fi PMP. At this stage, it’s still kind of too early to talk about its price and the availability. But once it gets official, I’ll keep you updated here.
