
HKC is a completely new brand to us, it’s actually a mobile maker from Hong Kong, which has recently released the so-called world’s first dual sim and dual-network PDA phone, the HKC W1000.
The HKC W1000 runs Windows Mobile 6.0 as the operating system. It supports dual band networks, which you can have two different SIM cards to work for two different cellular networks, which are the EDGE/GSM 900/1800/1900MHz and CDMA 2000 1×800/1900. The W1000 measures 117×61mm and with an averagely acceptable thickness of 16.4mm.
The HKC W1000 boasts a 2.8-inch 65536 color TFT QVGA touchscreen. The screen has a resolution of 240×320. It is equipped with a 2.0 megapixel camera, which doesn’t come with auto-focus function. But the camera is equipped with the auto-detection of shooting in a landscape or a portrait mode. The camera also emphasizes on function for self shooting, which it comes with easy adjustment for the frames and styles for the self-shot pictures.
The HKC W1000 PDA phone is best used by stock market watchers, which it’s equipped with various short cut menus on its screen to let users to easily subscribe to live stock market update.
Some other goodies found on this PDA phone are a USB port for easy data transfer and USB charging, music playback, talk time of 200 mins and standby time of 120 hours. Under the hood are the OMAP850(200MHz) processor, 256 MB ROM, 64 MB RAM and memory expansion can be done by using T-Flash memory card.

After all these goodies, the down side is the phone runs a Chinese-version Windows Mobile OS, which are only usable by those who can read Chinese.
