The continuous rise of oil prices, making the market more desirous for hybrid cars which can run on hydrogen fuel cells. But somehow hybrid cars have been too far behind what the convenience given by today’s petrol-powered cars. Especially, it travels only a pretty short distance before it’s run out its fuel and needs for a refill.
But with the new announcement of Toyota’s new FCHV-adv Fuel Cell hybrid car, it’ll turn out to be a different story, which hybrid cars would most probably be able to replace the petrol-powered cars in the near future.
The Toyota’s FCHV-adv Fuel Cell hybrid car is equipped with the newly designed high-performance Toyota FC Stack. The major improvements are the cruising distance and the low-temperature starts. The Toyota’s FCHV-adv’s fuel cell hybrid car is now claimed to able to travel up to a distance of 830km on a single fueling.
It also can start and operate in cold regions, which the temperatures are as low as -30 degrees Celsius, making it highly adaptable to a wider variety of conditions and climates. The fuel cell system of this new hybrid car has been improved with 25% better in terms of efficiency. And also with enhancement in regenerative brake system and various reductions of energy consumed by auxiliary systems. Besides, the fuel cells have also been improved for the durability.
The new Toyota’s hybrid cars depend on the TMC (Toyota Motor Corporation)-developed 70Mpa high-pressure hydrogen tanks, which have the capacities to run up to 830km on a single fueling, which has double the performance of TOYOTA FCHV-adv’s predecessor, the TOYOTA FCHV.
