Facebook no doubt is one of the most popular social networking websites. For a digital photo frame to make itself different from others, is to be able to fetch those pictures of yours and your friends’ from your Facebook account.
The 8-inch WiFi photo from eStarling, is the first digital photo frame that we’ve heard that supports Facebook. It allows you to link to your Facebook account and fetches all your and your friends’ uploaded pictures, and display on this digital photo frame.
The eStarling photo frame needs some configuration before letting it to work on its own. The photo frame also emphasizes on certain security on its WiFi, which supports WEP or WPA encryption. And it allows flexibility of setting up the IP address, which is either dynamic using DHCP or manual config for static IP.
The photo frame also sets itself to have its own dedicated email address once it gets online. You can then let others know this email address, so your friends and relatives can send the pictures directly to this email address. And those pictures will then be displayed on the photo frame. Of course, it also allows you to set some specific email addresses that you wish to receive email from, which eliminates the risk of you getting spammed with Viagra adverts.
The photo frame checks for new email every few minutes and puts those pictures received via email, on rotation in slideshow. Besides, it can take feeds from Flickr and Photobucket and displays those pictures on the feeds. The photo frame is also equipped with a web-based control panel that allows you to add and delete photos. The specs at a glance are as follows:
