You’ll be trapped into frustration, when your TV remote control has run out of battery, as you can’t use it to switch your favorite mid-night channels anymore. This is always a little trouble to the forgetful ones, who always forget to backup some batteries for the TV remote control.
SMK, a leading TV remote control maker, has now eliminated this little frustration of yours, by having prototyped a TV remote control that doesn’t need battery to operate. The remote control presented by SMK here is shaped like a water gun. To control the TV, such as turning up and down the volume, On/Off power and switching channels are all done by pulling the trigger of the water-gun-shaped remote control.
The remote control incorporates an electromagnetic induction coil, high speed rotation gears, a power circuit, an infrared light emitting unit, etc. When the user pulls the trigger, the coil rotates at a high speed. And the induction of the coil will then generate power to prepare itself, awaking up all the circuitries and be ready to work as a TV remote control for you. The current produced by the induction is approximately 20-30mA, which is sufficient to transmit signals between several meters via Infrared light.
Pulling the trigger on this remote control allows it to change the channels. Two consecutive pulls of the trigger will turn the TV on or off. Volume control might need two-handed operation, which you need to pull the trigger and push another button at the same time. This battery-less TV remote control is definitely one great idea, for saving as much as energy possible to save the Earth from global warming.
