What is shown in the picture is a new cellphone being prepared by Samsung, the Touchwiz aka SGH-F480, to enter the European market. By taking for the first look at the Samsung Touchwiz, for sure you’ll say that it’s apparently another iPhone wannabe.
The Samsung Touchwiz obviously features the iPhone kind of touchscreen UI that works well with your fingers. But whether it fully imitates what the iPhone has, such as supporting the multi-touch capabilities, still remains as a question to me.
The Samsung Touchwiz comes with pretty exciting features including 240 MB of internal music memory, 8GB memory card, an FM radio, a 5 megapixel camera featuring auto focus and a CMOS video lens. Besides, other features of TouchWiz’s camera are some what mostly found on a DSLR camera instead of on a cellphone, such as the the auto face detection and image stabilizer.
The Touchwiz makes use of a new and unique img4.gif UI, comes with specially designed widgets to let the users customize and personalize the phone interface. Users are allowed to drag and drop to arrange these widgets onto their home screens to suit their own needs.
The Touchwiz is a slim guy that measures only 11.6mm in thickness, and comes in brushed metal finish. It’s got a leather case included to protect the touchscreen. Last but not least, the Samsung Touchwiz supports 3G/HSDPA high-speed Internet, which you’d only get in second generation of iPhone. Samsung is ready to roll it out across many European countries in June.
