Hardbox external hard drive camouflaged as a hardcover book

Sarotech’s Hardbox hardcover-book-camouflaged external hard disk drive enclosure
Is there a need for an external hard disk drive enclosure to be camouflaged like other everyday objects, lets say a hardcover book? Maybe it’s necessary to do so, which makes it less noticeable as a hard drive for storing your very important data.

But there will be bad and good sides of having a hard drive enclosure camouflaged as a hardcover book. Of course, the good is it makes those poor-sighted think it’s just an ordinary hardcover book like the Harry Porter that chucked in your bookshelves. So, your important data will be safe at least for the very first stage. The bad side will be, your co-workers would have mistakenly handle it with carelessness, such as dropping it on the floor that’d have damaged the drive in it.

The Sarotech’s Hardbox USB external hard drive enclosure is what we’re talking about here, which is camouflaged in a hardcover book. If your eye sight is damn poor, you’d have failed to notice there is a blinking LED, which is the most prominent feature that tells that it’s actually a hard disk drive.

The Hardbox USB enclosure supports both the SATA I and II 3.5 inch hard drive. It doesn’t come with a fan, so you’d need to be careful, not to block the fake page detailing that is used for heat ventilation. It comes with a built-in power supply and the dimensions are 200 x 160 x 40mm.

It seems like you’d some carpenter’s work, if you intend to leave this enclosure on your bookshelf i.e. drilling a little hole to let the power cable through to connect to this enclosure. There are a few buttons, for various short-cuts of actions such as power button, write protection switch and an one push backup button that activates the IntelliStor backup software.

This enclosure carries a price tag of $300, and there is no hard drive included with this price tag. Well, if you think your bookshelf is lacking of a nice hardcover book, may be you could consider one that can store your precious data as well as spicing up your bookshelf.
