NAS (Network Attached Storage) drives are in great demand these days, as we’re getting more content to store, and it’s norm nowadays that home users will have their own NAS drives attached to their home LAN for storing all sort of contents.
Plextor has just rolled out a new pair of NAS drives, which might interest some home or office users for the convenience of storing their data over the network. The new pair of NAS drives from Plextor are the StorX PX-NAS500L and PX-NAS1000L NAS drives, which offer up 500GB and 1TB of storage capacity respectively.
Each unit comes with a Gigabit Ethernet port which makes full use of the top speed of data transmission found in today’s network switches. There is also a one-touch USB back-up button, which is handy to let you have a quick backup of the data to another USB external hard drive. And it’s also equipped with a pair of USB sockets that gives the ability to grow, such as connecting a USB printer to it for sharing it as a networked printer. Other than the mentioned features, there are no other goodies come with this pair of NAS drives. About the software and administrative panel used on these NAS drives, the administrator is allowed to limit access of the folders, and configure the drives as a dedicated FTP server.
If you haven’t heard of the company Plextor, just a short introduction here, it’s a company that’s been well-known for its super-reliable optical disc drives. But now, the company is moving into making NAS and hard disk drives, which might have put some skeptical about the reliablities
of their NAS and hard drives. The two NAS drives of Plextor are aimed to hit the market in June this year, which the prices seem to still remain unknown.
