What is shown to you here definitely looks pretty weird. But it seems to be a neat idea. Look at how the two hands holding this little weird handheld computer are comfortably pressing those buttons on the keyboard.
The little device is called AlphaGrip Handheld Computer. The overall design is meant for you to hold it firmly, and have all your ten fingers to work on it for faster messaging and gaming actions. The device has full-size rocker keys at the back, and on the front there are thumb keys. Combining the two sets of keys, the device is claimed to enable the user with high-speed typing, which allows the user to achieve at rates of 250-350 key presses or 50-70 words per minute.
Besides, there is a thumb-controlled trackball which works similarly to a computer mouse. And the screen is equipped with hand-writing recognition capability that allows you to use a stylus to write on it. Whether you like it or not, it’s claimed to give a 200% increase in productivity in various computing tasks such as creating text messages, emails and documents, gaming and even for the coders and designers, it also boosts your coding and graphic design speed. Last but not least, you can carry out any of the mentioned computing tasks at any location in any position; while standing, riding, walking etc.
In fact, I think it’s a great design that really increases your productivity. This can be proven by how fast I can type by using my two thumbs on my Blackberry. I think I can type even faster if my Blackberry had the two sets of keys offered by the AlphaGrip Handheld Computer, which allows all your 10 fingers to work on it.
