Griffin’s ClearBoost is a special case for your iPhone which comes with an antenna that gives your iPhone a signal boost. The design of the ClearBoost case doesn’t look so appealing to many users. But its main purpose is not for its look, it’s meant for giving your iPhone nice protection, and a network signal boost.
The ClearBoost case is a combination of a stub-like antenna, a bumper and a screen protector.
The ClearBoost case is found helpful and gives better performance to your iPhone in certain situations only. The booster seems to fail to work while you’re stuck in a very low or completely flat coverage area, but if you move to areas that could give you two or three bars, the ClearBoost will kick in with additional one or two bars.
It’s said that the ClearBoost’s antenna is optimized to benefit an iPhone in 850MHz mode, which is how AT&T provides coverage to 90% of the United States. So, for an iPhone that roams on another frequency band, this case will not give too much help.
Overall the case wouldn’t trouble too much of the pocketability of your iPhone, the little stub-like antenna adds a little additional height 0.6 inch which isn’t significant. The more noticeable is the additional thickness added by the case to your iPhone, but still makes it comfortable to go into your pocket. The ClearBoost case costs you around $35 only.
