The iPhone Dev Team has developed a superb hacking tool called the PWNED tool. The PWNED tool allows you to batch the iPhone’s boot loader making it (and iPod Touch too) freely to be loaded with any firmware image, even the image not signed by Apple.
The PWNED tool simplifies the jailbreaking and unlocking process of the iPhone firmware, as you can now load the custom patched firmware onto your iPhone from iTunes directly. The developers claim that the PWN tool allows iPhone owners to easily restore their iPhone to whatever states they like such as from the jailbroken iPhone to the factorry-default.
The PWNED tool was first said to be released on Sunday, March 30th. But now there seems to be a delay for a week. Loading the PWNED tool onto your iPhone just needs you to follow the following instructions given by the iPhone Dev Team.
Here is where the magic happens, once the phone has rebooted, click on “IPSW Builder,” and you are presented with a list of the building options (jailbreak, unlock, etc..) including the all new “BootNeuter,” the ultimate iPhone unlocking solution. Once you have customized your IPSW, hit OK and let Pwnage build the restore file. Next we head to iTunes, option+click on the restore button, and navigate to the custom ipsw that you just created,. Hit OK and we’re done! iTunes will restore the iPhone to the state of your choosing (Be it jailbroken, unlocked etc…)
