We’ve been so used to the QWERTY keyboard that we have with our computers. And even now QWERTY has been extended to some smaller sized gadgets, our fingers will automatically get themselves easily focused on the keys on a QWERTY. QWERTY is simply good for typing what you want, but it might be little lacking for those hardcore gamers. Playing games on a QWERTY is simply no easy way, you’ll find those assigned keys for controlling certain actions of the game characters are totally out. There would have been many times that you wished to shift the keys on your QWERTY around for better game control, but you couldn’t.
Here comes the Ergodex DX1 input system, which is the new kind of keyboard that you can stick the keys on it on the positions that you want and tell the DX1 what you want for each key to do. You can have those keys to take one command or even a string of commands, which gives you full freedom to configure your keyboard.
The DX1 input system comes with 25 buttons which you can stick them freely on the tray for any configuration. They’re all flexible, if you’ve messed it up all you’ll have to do is to restick the buttons and reconfigure. There are also two permanent buttons on the DX1 tray that allow you to bring up the DX1 control panel and and assign/record macros on the fly. For example, when you’re playing game and you realize that you need a new key, you can then stick it down and assign it a command or macro and keep playing.
The DX1 works with any program and can memorize a different set of macros set for each program. It allows you to stick down the key without changing the anything other than the program you are using. You can have many sets of macros for controlling app software such as for the short cut keys for your Photoshop, playing computer games etc.
The Ergodex DX1 input system comes included with a removable tray, a pad, 25 numbered Keys with a storage tray, preprinted key labels, an installation CD, and a Quick Start Guide. And it needs Windows XP operating to work. All the modern days’ computers with a processor higher in grade than Pentium III, more than 128MB of RAM and 50MB hard drive will run this input system smoothly. The pad measures 10″ X 8″.
