Sony showcased their latest flagship, Alpha DSLR-A900 at Photo Imaging Expo 2008 in Japan, which is a full frame 24.6 Megapixel digital camera.
The camera is not yet released officially, which Sony has plan to release it officially either in August during IFA or September during Photokina.
The Sony Alpha DSLR-A900 camera will feature a full frame sensor and boast a whopping 24.6 Megapixel. The further details of this camera is not yet known. But it should have superb focusing speed, ISO up to 25600 in order to compete with the Nikon D3. Wondering if Canon will make any move to catch up in order to stay competitive with the two?

Regarding camera equipment, why do people defend the makes as uf it were their mothers?
Who cares whether Nikon or Canon wins? As a photographer for many years, I own Canon, Nikon, rolleiflex, Mamiya, Sigma Fuji cameras. They are all good.
Photographers see photos in 12-16 bits, while customers only 2 bits. They either like it or don’t. I have never heard a customer say “wow that photo looks like it was taken on a Nikon, canon etc.”
As an aside, regarding Sony a900. Everybody is wrong. I have a contact at Sony; Komei Machu
Katukaka He says the a900 will be approx $4000usd.
There is a smaller model fx for about $2000usd.
Anyway save your $4000. The way I look at it, If I spend $4000 I had better defend it.

i’ve shot like 25.000 pics on my A100 & around 10.000 on A700… i’m quite satified with them both. the photos i shot include still life, fashion and some liquid shots as well. they perform well with carl zeiss lenses. but you HAVE TO shot raw images around ISO 100-200. otherwise you can not get sharp images & can’t avoid noise!!
i’ve got a bunch of carl zeiss lenses now and i am planning to keep on using them.. so why not buy an A900????
cheers….
