Wasabi-powered fire alarm – best alert for the deaf while in danger!

Wasabi-powered fire alarm - best alerts for the deaf while in danger!
For those who love Japanese food, Wasabi is the must have horseradish to spice up your Japanese dishes. I specially love it while I’m enjoying the delicious Sushi or Sashimi. Besides adding the pungent sensation to the delicious Japanese food, Wasabi has now found itself another new application i.e. to be used as the alerting agent in some new smoke detectors and fire alarms invented by the Japanese.

The new kind of fire alarm or smoke detector is making use of the pungent smell or taste given out by Wasabi to alert the deaf while they’re in danger. The researchers claim that the Wasabi’s pungent perfume is so strong that it can even wake up the dead.

For the Japanese food lovers, surely you’ll know while you’ve accidentally bitten a piece of sushi that has thick layer of Wasabi rolled within, you’ll surely have your tears rolling down your eyes in the next few seconds or you’re feeling something drilling up from your nostril to your upper noise. So, this super strong smell is definitely a good alerting agent used within the alarms to tell the deaf that the house is on fire or gonna burn down soon and they’ll have to rush their way to save their own life.

The prototypes of the new Wasabi-powered silent smoke alarm, has got its prototypes and been tested to have successfully waken up 13 out of 14 test subjects within 2 minutes, by spraying Wasabi. One subject of the test even got awaken within mere 10 seconds after the wasabi essence was sprayed.

The Japanese are really smart and creative, look at how they make use of what they’re putting into their mouth everyday, to save the life of the deaf.
