Sony was hinting about a new slider phone, which seems to have bothered many to guess what it would be. And now it’s been announced at CeBIT, it’s the Sony T303 slider phone.
The Sony T303 is actually a low-end model that doesn’t support any 3G data connectivity. It fits for a tri-band GSM/GPRS radio and will be available in three versions. Which each version has a tailing alphabet in its code name for different continental regions. Such as the T303(i) is meant for European market, the T303c is for China and the T303a is for the North Amerca. The T303 slider phone features a 1.8″ 128×160 65K color screen, 1.3 megapixel camera with 4x digital zoom, media player, FM radio, TrackID. It measures 83×47×14.7 mm and weighs 93 grams.
The slider T303 shall be available around middle of 2008. There would be some plans to give away as free for the “Shimmering Silver” or “Shadow Black” color model. The press release claims this phone is stylish and good looking, thanks to its metal and chrome finish. And it’s small and compact with all the basic need on today’s cellphone and fits well to your pocket.

To me, the only shortcoming of the phone is its lack of 3G connectivity in this era, that would have made it a smash.
