Those working in harsh environment will need to have a computer that can stand the test of drop and collision. A computer with a rugged body is definitely your choice. Duros is an UMPC that is specially designed to withstand environment that is dusty, wet, with extreme temperature, and ideally it could pass many thousand times of drops.
The Duros rugged tablet measures 260 x 198 x 43mm and weighs 1.9 Kg. It can survive multiple drops from 4 feet high on to concrete. The Duros is sealed with a case that meets IEC 60526 standard, which ensures it’s completely water and dust proof. And there is an optional 64GB SSD to replace the hard drive, if speed is your major concern instead of price. The screen is 8.4″ running SVGA resolution and is equipped with touch screen.
The rugged tablet is also equipped with various wireless connectivities such as WiFi, Bluetooth. And from the cellular networks including GSM, GPRS, EDGE and UMTP. Also there is an option for GPS, which you can stick in on your car’s dash board to direct you your way back home.
