Another great product of nano technology that makes it possible to squeeze many millions of super nano-sized solar antennas on a solar panel, which can effectively transform 80% of solar energy into usable energy. Most commercial grade solar panels are said to be able to transform only 20%-40% of solar energy into usable energy. The new solar panel, which the researchers are working on, depends on nano-scaled antennas, having over 10 millions of them clammed into a 6-inch circle to effectively collect sun light.
The super tiny size of these nano antennas make them possible to absorb energy in the infrared part of the sunlight, which is invisible to human eyes. The sun radiates a lot of infrared energy, which mostly soaked up the earth and later released as radiation after sunset. The Nanoantennas can take both in from both the sunlight and the heat of the earth, which makes it much more efficient than the currently available solar panels in the market.
