Nanochip developes 100GB storage chipset
Nano-technology – the technology that can go super tiny scale that is able to squeeze many millions or more of memory cells into one single chip set. The latest development in the computer memory chip contributed by nano-technology is a single memory chip set that can store up to 100GB. Nanochip, a company that has received funding of $14 million, is now working for this 100GB memory chipset and targeting to push it into production as early as 2009.

The company uses MEMs technology along with arrays of atomic force probe tips to write, read, and record data bits on a continuous storage medium. The future plans of Nanochip is to continuously develop to achieve single memory chip of greater than 1 TB per die.
