Bicycle recharges your cellphone is not new to us. A guy had spent two years to build a bike-powered cellphone charger that makes use of pedaling the bike to charge the phone. But now, seems like this concept has been extended into a business - a Bike Powered Mobile Phone Charging Center.
Llamadassa has put together a Bicycle Powered Mobile Phone Center. The idea is great since it doesn’t require AC power, transporting the phone center charges the battery and the battery can also be charged while the unit is stationary by lifting the wheel off the ground.
The one essential thing that a cell phone has that a call shop doesn’t is a battery, so using parts found in a junk yard we created a constantly recharging battery by pedal power. Electricity is generated as the person is traveling to his destination, if the battery runs low at the destination he can drop the kick stand and start cycling in place. Generating electricity from pedaling allows us to travel to the central park, a remote town or a big festival increasing access to inexpensive telephony anywhere.
This is definitely handy for developing countries that are hardly to find AC outlets around. And the parts that make up of the cellphone charging bikes are also collected from developing countries, where the used parts, such as old car alternator, old computer UPS could be easily found.
