Intelligent power plug system builds smart energy-saving home
Lets face it, the more gadgets that we have, the more forgetful we are – to switch them off! So, we need an intelligent power plug system that would switch off these gadgets when they aren’t being used. Definitely, such an intelligent power plug will help you save pretty much of your bills.

An intelligent plug system is being developed that automatically switches off gadgets while they are not in use. Furthermore, it keeps track of how much power is consumed on each gadget. The system is smart enough to detect gadgets left unattended in empty room and switch them off.

The smart plug system will consist of a centralized control and monitoring panel, which communicates wirelessly (via radio waves) with all the power plugs distributed across a house. The central control panel will do everything for you such as telling you that your fridge having fault, turning off your iPod when it’s finished charging etc. Anyway, it needs at least few years for these smart plugs to be fitted as standard to all domestic appliances.

This sounds like it would be a very useful tool. I know how easy it can be to forget to turn something off or unplug it for that matter. It sounds like this plug would be very helpful in not just saving energy but also showing people what is using up a lot of energy.
