Scientists unveiled the next generation of light bulbs, will be using LEDs as the light source. The new LED powered light bulbs are simply much more efficient than the conventional light bulbs that use filament bulbs, as they consume much lower energy. And scientists expect LEDs to replace the filament models within three years.
Basically, LEDs have been used within various electronic gadgets, mostly used as light emitting indicators on computers and mobile phones etc. Until today, only it’s confirmed that LED is bright enough to replace filament models of home lighting.
Researchers at University of Glasgow have found a new method to make LED to shine much brighter without using more power. The new method is by making some microscopic holes on the surface of the LEDs, which enables to extract more light, thus increasing the brightness without increasing the energy supplied to it. A special technique called nano-imprint lithography, is for etching the microscopic holes on the LEDs, letting more light to escape.

[...] Plasma light bulb seems to be burning extremely hot at its core, which can heat up to an insane 6000-degrees Kelvin, equivalent to temperature that you get on the surface of the sun. The light bulb is also said to put out 140 lumens per watt, which is almost ten times as efficient as an incandescent bulb and double the efficiency of an LED. [...]
