USB Magic Jack lets your computer make calls to home phones for $39.95 a year

Magic Jack is a little USB device, which you can hook it up to your computer’s USB port to make calls to any home telephones. To use it, connect Magic Jack to your computer’s USB port, plug a home phone to the RJ11 port (phone jack) of Magic Jack and the software on it will load automatically to let you dial your numbers for making calls.

Magic Jack costs you only $39.95 for the first year and $19.95 for subsequent years. It’s a complete phone service that comes with a phone number, that you can make local and long distance calls for free in the US and Canada. Besides, it includes free voicemail service for receiving messages whether you’re offline or online. Some other common services seen in phone services such as caller ID, call waiting, free directory assistance, call forwarding, free three way calling, and 911 are also included with Magic Jack.

This is useful for geeks who always stay in front of the computers. Of course, it wouldn’t be that convenient for some users as making calls will need to have your computers turned on. Anyway, it’s simply a cheap package, which has no charges for usage.

A video clip is included below giving you a clear idea on how you can use magic jack on your computer.

Can you use magic jack to make International calls? Yes, you can. International calls made from one magic jack user to another is free. So, if you have a friend or your loved one who lives abroad, you can send him or her a magic jack, as long as you use your magic jack to call his or her magic jack, then you’ll not be charged of any usage, other than the $19.95 annual fee.

But if you use your magic jack to call the home or mobile phone of someone who lives abroad, then you’ll be charged with International minutes. There are a couple of international prepaid packages starting at $5 or at a rate competitive with other VOIP rates, check out Magicjack.com for more info.

Where can you buy magic jack? You can grab it from Amazon for only $37 USD

I received 2 Magic Jacks and sent them back in one week because they didn’t work well. 2 weeks after that Magic Jack charged my credit card with over 100 dollars and I haven’t gotten it back yet. They don’t have a phone and their chat line is not help. Be careful doing business with these people

I just wanted to add my two cents here about MJ and their service. A couple of days ago we had garbled service, couldn’t understand incoming or outgoing calls. I have the device setup on a XP Dell Inspiron Notebook computer. It is on a Cable modem connected through a Netgear router. I got on MJ site and started a chat session. The first person went through a couple of things with me and it didn’t help at all.
So he turned me over to a 2nd level help person. This guy went through more stuff including opening up several ports on my router. I did get the problem fixed and was very impressed with their support. I would suggest if you are having problems you might use a chat session as it sure fixed my problem!

I reluctantly bought the MagicJack a few months ago for $40 at WalMart. I plugged it into my PC and it proceeded to download the software, which took about 2 minutes or less. I had to register online and then I was ready to go. I have made close to 60 calls with MagicJack and haven’t had any problems that I can complain about. You can go to http://voiprev.com to read and submit reviews on MagicJack and many of the other popular VoIP providers. The $40 I spent on Magicjack for 1 year of service was just about what i was paying for one month of at&t CallVantage service. I was skeptical, but I am now a convert. I also understand that the service is as good as your broadband internet connection.

I now only have the second MJ on my computer. I cannot contact a rep from MJ to contact to find out why my second phone number is not showing and active in my records.
I NEED ASSISTANCE!!! Please advise me to whom or where I can get help with this problem.
