Magic Jack is a little USB device, which you can hook it up to your computer’s USB port to make calls to any home telephones. To use it, connect Magic Jack to your computer’s USB port, plug a telephone line home phone to the RJ11 port (phone jack) of Magic Jack and the software on it will load automatically to let you dial your numbers for making calls.
Magic Jack costs you only $39.95 for the first year and $19.95 for subsequent years. It’s a complete phone service that comes with a phone number, that you can make local and long distance calls. Besides, it includes free voicemail service for receiving messages whether you’re offline or online. Some other common services seen in phone services such as caller ID, call waiting, free directory assistance, call forwarding, free three way calling, and 911 are also included with Magic Jack. MagicJack also comes with couple of international prepaid packages starting at $5.
This is useful for geeks who always stay in front of the computers. Of course, it wouldn’t be that convenient for some users as making calls will need to have your computers turned on. Anyway, it’s simply a cheap package, which has no charges for usage.
Update: A little correction and my apology here for having left some people confused about the MagicJack. The sentence above mentions “plug a telephone line to MagicJack” has been corrected, it shall be “plug a home phone to the other end of MagicJack that has a phone jack” does NOT mean you need a home telephone line to route your calls out in conventional telephony network in this case. MagicJack actually comes with one end is the USB port for hooking up to your computer and the other end is a RJ11 port (phone jack) that you can connect to any home telephone to make calls! To put it short, MagicJack uses VOIP to route your calls to MagicJack routing center and then it subsequently routes your calls to other home phones in the US. In this case, your computer will need an Internet access such as DSL, cable modem, other broadbands and WiFi etc. You can find more about it on MagicJack FAQ Page

I don’t know much about the Magic Jack, but I heard it’s gay. A-holes like Jason and Gus are just convincing people it’s an awesome technology. It’s simply a waste of money and it has too many requirements. If it has too many requirements then how is that convenient?
I know it didn’t say anything about being convenient but what the hell, it should be something easy without too much requirements.
PEOPLE DON’T BUY THIS PRODUCT, YOU WILL JUST WASTE YOUR MONEY!!
Have a Nice Day

Hi, I think your website is interesting very colorful. Good job! I feel helping job seekers finding their ream home jobs are a fulfilling quest. Good luck in your quest too.A couple of days ago we had garbled service, couldn’t understand incoming or outgoing calls. I have the device setup on a XP Dell Inspiron Notebook computer. It is on a Cable modem connected through a Netgear router. I got on MJ site and started a chat session. The first person went through a couple of things with me and it didn’t help at all.
