Bettas may have originated in rice paddies in Thailand but if you google rice paddies, you will see that they are quite spacious (although shallow). Bettas are tropical fish. They require to be in heated tanks in temperatures between 75 to 80 degrees. There is no room for the poor critter to move. In such small enclosure, the fish owner needs to change the water like 2-3 times a day. Keep in mind Bettas (and all fish) lives in their own toilets. The ammonia from their waste affects their health. Finally there is nothing for the poor fish to do other than to stay put. Bettas are curious and intelligent animals. They like to swim around and through plants. There is no room to put a bridge or a plant in this "tank". One lap and the fish is done for the day. If people were smart, they would do research first on good fish husbandry and not just stick the poor critter in the first novelty garbage they see like this piece of junk. It's not just the vibrations and noise from the music, how is the fish supposed to move, turn around, express it's normal behaviours....be kept clean, fed?? Most of us forget that music generates sound waves and vibrations that are somewhat foreign to fish.
