Toyota is not the only car manufacturer that has stepped into the robotic era. Honda has also got their humanoid robot to show us, which is called Asimo.
The Asimo is a robot that is as agile as human in movement. The robot is specially engineered with 34 Degrees of Freedom, which lets it walk freely and perform task much like a human. One degree of freedom is the measurement used to indicate that an object can move right and left or up and down.
So, you can imagine, the 34 degrees clammed on Asimo means that his body can move freely like human joints for optimum movement and flexibility. Interested to know more how good ASIMO is, here comes a video of Asimo in action after the jump!
Asimo is designed to operate in the real world, where people need to reach for things, pick things up, navigate along floors, sidewalks, and even climb stairs. ASIMO’s abilities to run, walk smoothly, climb stairs, communicate, and recognize people’s voices and faces will enable ASIMO to easily function in our world and truly assist humans.

Instead of the violinist android from Toyota, we should be aware with these asimo generations from Honda. Such android technology with the ability to cover a general purpose almost like a human being and specific ability to reason can end up like the one of the story in Animatrix when a master was killed by his robot servant, because the robot do not want to be dismantled.

Totally futuristic dude. I doubt that the dismal future of the poster above will really come true. This is progress. It will happen. And these smart people can probably build it.
