You’re most concerned with how many Diggs you’ve got for your blog post, how many new emails you have and the number of hits your blog is getting. And you wish to have a device that could be attached to your computer’s USB port and with simple display that would tell you all these stats, by just taking a peek at it. I think there is no such a device in the market yet, but if you’re brainy enough and with little knowledge of electronics, you can follow the instruction on the project page to build one – a device called U-Disp which stands for USB Statistics Display.
The creator of this U-Disp has left a detailed build log. You’ll find source code, schematic diagrams and even the PCB file on his site. The U-Disp displays the stats on its eight character seven-segment display, including digg counts of your latest digg submission, count of unread emails, current server’s load, number of hits you’re getting for your home page, exchange rate, gold price and even your portfolio value!
