Solar-powered wheelchair hits Taiwan!

A research team from Southern Taiwan University of Technology has developed a kind of wheelchair that is powered by the solar energy. Definitely, we need green gadgets, gadgets that take naturally generated power instead of burning fuel that will bring more problems to the Earth. The solar-powered wheelchair comes with a frame, which on top of the frame is the solar panel mounted on it. The frame gives the patient sitting on it a good shade as well as generating power from sunlight to move the wheelchair.

Anyway, there are lots goodies with the solar-powered wheelchair. And surprisingly, it’s sold at a cheaper price than any of the current manual and electrical models as the solar-powered model is claimed to cause the manufacturers produce much lesser electronic waste. Solar-powered wheelchair can even last longer than a typical wheelchair as it doesn’t need to be charged up. This solar-powered wheelchair has recently won the University contest for the team and they’ve applied for a patent and going for mass production.
