So, to cool down a computer for best performance could be achieved by having a hard drive wrapped in ice? How about recovering data from a failed hard drive? It could be achieved by double boiling the failed hard drive! Well, whether you like it or not, someone claims that he’s successfully recovered his failed hard drive by boiling it in a boiler.
A fellow from Mandible Games found his hard drive failed to show up in the BIOS but would still spin. And there was a distinct and repetitive clicking noise coming out of the hard drive. After a little experiment, he realized that the drive’s head may have been misaligned or stuck, so he decided to heat the drive up, which he was thinking that would make it expand and the head would subsequently fall back to its proper position. Apparently, his double boiling to the hard drive managed to achive a proper amount of heat without further damaging the hard drive. The hard drive is claimed to work perfectly after the double boiling process of data recovery! Anyway, my advice is - don’t try this at home!
