The floating Buddha and lamp shade shown in the picture aren’t any photoshop job. Both the objects are actually levitating. This is the new technology brought to us by Netherlands based Crealev, which is able to levitate an open platform to a significant height in a stable and resilient way. More info and video after the jump!
The company didn’t disclose how it all works. Only leaving little hint such as the base can be more or less flat and the longer the diameter of the base, the higher the levitation height. It seems to consume relatively low power, which needs only between 0.5 and 8 watts. I guess it could be using some kind of pressure, which might be having swift air flow on top of the platform to create a lift force? Or it could be using super strong magnetic force to do that?
Anyway, Crealev says you can place orders on its website for custom objects but the price is not clear yet.

it’s just using magnets. It takes a lot of work in development to get the magnets and weight of the product just right. Apparently you can not get the objects to stop rotating. Objects can also rotate faster I believe. Flotaing pens have had this technology for severla years, but the designs ehre look really nice in form.

so… why hasn’t this made news yet? and when was this concept released? I don’t really believe the validity of it. seeing as how obscure the only site to have this information is. please give me some feed back. I am very interested in how this works, if it works.
