Walkstation is the first height-adjustable workstation that comes integrated with treadmill, which can let busy corporate climbers carry out some exercise while they work. Corporate workers have always been busy with their work and they usually neglect their health, wouldn’t go for regular workout. Having the walkstation, they can easily burn some unwanted calories during their working hours.
The walkstation is the product of a Grand Rapids-based Company, Steelcase Inc. The walkstation gets the user to have a low-impact slow stroll on it instead of a sweat-inducing run-walk, which is deemed as the most efficient way for helping overly busy office workers to burn some calories as well as keeping good health. The integrated treadmill of the walkstation runs quietly, will not create any disturbing noise to the office environment. It operates at a maximum speed of 3.5 mph. The machine is asking for a price of $4,000 and they will go on sales starting from Nov. 19 onwards.

Is it possible to buy just the treadmill, and if at what would it sell? Also, what are the dimensions of the treadmill?

Lisa, you can certainly do this yourself. The WalkStation is truly a revolutionary product because it is the gets people to do what nature intended. Walk. Anyone will lose weight if their diet stays constant, not just obese folks. However, 66% of americans are overweight according to the CDC and the main culprit is inactivity and ….our chairs. At $6500 it is not going to solve the problem but there are alternatives. I made my own and attached it to a treadmill. In 2 months I have lost 18 pounds and have a lot more to go but I love how energized I feel every day and the fact that when I leave my work I have worked out already….without sweating. I do want a more professional model and I found one called TrekDesk. Their site at http://www.trekdesk.com has some interesting articles about the health benefits of walking. It surprised me and motivated me. I will always work this way now.
