Sanyo has taken quite a daring approach for making a cellphone that has a complete difference in both appearance and power source from any other modern cellphones in the market. As shown in the picture, the prototype, the new Sanyo’s cellphone boasts a cylindrical body and it’s the first modern phone that uses AA batteries as its power. Due to its cylindrical design, it could be facing some problem to cram some common functionalities of today’s cellphones into its body. So, it has no 3G, no camera, no MP3 player, no SMS and not even an LCD screen. OMG! Then what can it do for you? Simply just for making calls? Luckily, it’s made only for the Willcom’s PHS network in Japan. Anyway, one good thing about it is it has longer talk time of 5 hours and 250 hours on standby, all this can be squeezed from a single AA Sanyo Eneloop battery.
