This is certainly a great e-commerce technology that is being employed by the Japanese glasses store – Megane Top (”Top Glasses”). They’ve developed a pretty impressive technology, Mobile Fitting, which allows customers to take a snapshot of themselves using their own mobile phones and then download images of glasses from Megane Top’s website to combine it with the image of their own faces to see if they match.
Selling wearable items such as clothes, glasses online, would always be facing constraint of failing to achieve effective sales, as customer wouldn’t buy unless they could try if the items fit or match them well. Having the “Mobile Fitting” technology, customers can simply try it out their cellphone and would be able to make decision and order online without having to visit the physical store.
