A similar concept to what we have seen before, a smart gym that makes use of the dissipated energy of the clients to generate electricity. Now, it’s a smart nightclub proposed by Enviu, a Netherlands-based research group, which could generate energy from the dancers within.
The smart disco would be equipped with spring-loaded floor, which would be depressed by 2cm when people stepped on them and generating energy to run the lights, smoke suckers and speaker systems. Besides, the group also proposes another idea i.e. converts the dancers’ sweat into distill water that can then be used to flush the toilet of the club. Average nightclub is claimed to consume 150 times more energy than a four-person family every year. It’s definitely cool that Enviu has this green idea and of course helps save lots of bills for the disco.
