Of course, for some of us who aren’t that brainy, it’s kind of hard to figure out how a UPS (uninterruptible power supply) can be converted into a USB hard drive. Anyway, if you have a faulty UPS lying around (Well, I assume it’s faulty, left unused and unattended around the corner. If no, I don’t think you wanna sweat too much just for converting a functioning UPS into a USB hard drive), plus some other ingredients such as a notebook hard drive, a notebook hard drive external enclosure and a voltage meter, then you could turn this combination into a portable USB hard drive.
Sounds great? Or simply too complex or too much effort to waste. Of course, the big big question is, why you wanna bother to convert a UPS into a USB hard drive? Yeah, the guy behind this has got the excuse is - doing so simply lets you have an external USB hard drive that is in disguise as a UPS. So, you could use it as a stealth device, even to store lots of porns and MP3s on it, then your boss wouldn’t be able to find out that you’re doing all these nasty things in the office. Video clip shows you the great process of the conversion after the jump.
