Bandai's new robotic toy - the cockroach!
The Japanese company, Bandai seems to have developed the love of insects. They’ve produced couple of robotic insect toys. What is shown in the picture is probably the most hated by many people – Mr Cockroach.

The Bandai’s robotic cockroach is modeled after a real cockroach. It has a translucent body and six legs. And it’s loaded with couple of sensors for touch and sound that allow it to change its direction when it hits a wall and scuttle away when you make loud noise. The robotic cockroach is also equipped with a micro monitor that makes it vibrate like a cell phone.

The designer has gone through a couple of studies with the concern of battery efficiency. And they have concluded that the movements and speed of a cockroach are most suitable for all the series of toys. Even though you can get a ladybug design from their series but they’re still going to move like roaches.

  1. Robotic Cockroach | Gadget Venue dot com Says:

[...] Cockroaches are horrible. Luckily I havent had any close encounters with them that I know of. This robotic cockroach is made by Bandai and has a translucent body and 6 legs. It also had a number of sensors to that it can hear and touch things. The sensors come in to play when a loud noise is made, or if the cockroach bumps in to something. If you want something to walk around your desk then go pick one up. They arent as scary as the real thing. Via: Techchee « Lego Salt and Pepper Shakers [...]
